Bijan Samawat was born and raised in Berlin, Germany. When he moved to New York, he quickly became familiar with how difficult and frustrating it can be to find the right place to live. Because of this, he is determined to make sure that your experience is as smooth and enjoyable as possible. Starting with finding the right location, the best apartment for the best price, and helping you navigate through all the steps of renting or buying real estate, Bijan’s impeccable customer service and calm demeanor will literally make you feel right at home.

Before joining DSA, Bijan developed his sense of detail and aesthetics while helping with his family’s antiques business. He also worked as an intercultural and de-escalation trainer, and is a certified electrician in Germany.  Additionally, Bijan is an owner of  commercial property in Berlin which gave him experience as a speculator and landlord.

When he’s not scouring the streets searching for your new apartment, you’ll find him in the gym practicing Mixed Martial Arts three times a week, teaching Capoeira to a Harlem youth group, or riding his beach cruiser around the city.

Bijan is fluent in German and Farsi, and happy to help all the other New Yorkers find a great place that they can call home.

I just rented an apartment that Bijan showed me in the East Village. He was great to work with throughout the entire process. We met as his office to do some quick paperwork, and he showed me three apartments. He was very quick with the keys and was very polite and professional. One of them was fantastic and exclusive to his agency. I looked at a few other places afterwards, and put in an application on his apartment a few hours later. I was confirmed for the apartment by the next day.

Bijan said that he loves seeing people happy when they get an apartment they love, and it's true. He was a pleasure to work with from the beginning of the process through to the end. I definitely recommend working with him.

I read Bijan's reviews and contacted him with hopes of finding a reliable, trustworthy and patient broker and he met all of those expectations. He was real and honest, which is hard to find in this crazy market. I ended up finding an apartment on my own, but the process with him was really great. Highly recommended.

I would recommend Bijan Samawat to a friend. Although we ended up going with an apartment that was shown to us by another broker, Bijan was the most responsive and professional broker we worked with while looking for an apartment in Brooklyn (Cobble Hill/Brooklyn Heights/Boerum Hill).
