How is DSA Rentals different from all the other brokerage agencies?

We are honest

We don’t use “bait and switch” tactics, or post pictures of apartments that don’t exist in order to lure you through the door, like most other brokerage agencies. At DSA Realty we are upfront and honest in all our dealings with our clients. Other agencies push you to put down deposits on apartments sight unseen, only to find out the apartment looks nothing like the pictures, and very often the agent hasn’t seen his own listings himself. DSA Realty was specifically created to say “No more” to these shady practices. All our listings, pictures and advertisements are honest and real. Our agents are trained, knowledgeable and honest. We only deal with reputable landlords. We know who the “slumlords” are and we do not list their apartments. Try to find another brokerage that says that! Use DSA Realty and you can trust your agent!

Low fees

All the other brokerage agencies will charge you 15% of the first year’s rent, no matter what the price of the apartment. Do you want to pay a $7,200, 15% broker’s fee on a $4,000 apartment? DSA has hundreds of no-fee rentals and several no fee by owner rentals in the buildings we own. Any fee apartments we do have are always LOW FEE. We never charge a 15% fee like those other guys. We have the best Web site in the business

We provide detailed picture presentations that show you exactly what the apartments look like. This also means that our agents know what the apartments look like, so we’ll never waste your time taking you to apartments that are too small or not the right layout for you. Other brokerages don’t have this technology or they only provide 1 or 2 pictures for each apartment trying to force you to “call in” to get more info. Don’t fall for that trick! We have great listings

Most other brokerages show the same “open listings” that every agency has. Usually these listings are overpriced and undersized. DSA Realty has quality listings that other brokerages simply don’t have. Many of these listings are our exclusives and are located in all the prime Manhattan neighborhoods. We have exclusives on over 30 buildings in Manhattan. Even our non-exclusive listings are only listed if they meet our quality standards. When choosing an apartment there are many quality factors that are impossible to determine until you actually live in the unit. Trust us to weed out the “problem apartments.” We will not put our reputation on the line by renting substandard apartments. Arik Lifshitz, Co-President - DSA Realty Services

Arik co-founded DSA Realty Services in 2007. As president, Arik is responsible for the coordination and management of corporate matters. Arik is also a principal of DSA Management Company Inc., where his background in owning and managing New York City real estate gives him a different perspective on the brokerage business. That perspective was vital in building DSA Realty’s business model, “Low fees and better service builds relationships.”

Arik heads DSA’s expansion efforts and focuses on the synergy of all of DSA’s businesses. Arik believes in parlaying the success from one business into success in multiple businesses. DSA is an active buyer and manager of New York City real estate and in turn is constantly adding new exclusive buildings to DSA Realty’s apartment database. Jesse Rhinier, Co-President - DSA Realty Services

Jesse Rhinier, Co-President

Jesse has a background in accounting and is currently finishing a master’s in real-estate finance at NYU. He has been working in real estate for the past five years, where he has been one of the top-producing rental agents in the city and a true East Village specialist. Jesse became successful by being extremely trustworthy and honest with both clients and landlords and, as a result, has accumulated several landlords that work exclusively with DSA Realty.

Jesse believes that real-estate agents in this city have a bad reputation and has set out to change that stereotype. He only hires the most honest agents and encourages them to put their clients’ and landlords’ interests first. He created DSA Realty so that the city’s most highly trained and honest agents would be providing the best service to clients for the lowest fees out there. Why pay a 15% fee for bad service and insufficient listings when DSA Realty has better agents providing better service for much lower fees? His idea has worked well, and now renters are insisting on working with only DSA Realty, which makes him proud!
